My new hub and bearing assembly has an exposed bearing surface protruding from one side?
It has a clear gel substance that looks like grease. Should the mating surface be also coverred with grease before install after cleaning it? What should I clean that surface with? What will break down the antisieze on the bolts that hold the hub bearing assembly in place? Should I use some locktite to reassemble them?
The inner race has the grease on it. How much grease should be added and what kind of grease should be used?
remember not to tighten a taper bearing too tight(if it is one?) don’t over grease cos friction will cause heat which will thin the grease and make it run away from bearing landings…pack ample but don’t still fill up stub cover as well…
