Why is a wheelchair escort necessary for patients being discharged from a medical facility?
I understand that wheelchair escorts are necessary for all patients being discharged? Why is this if the patient is ambulatory?
They do this for liability reasons. They want to make sure you safely leave the hospital, so nothing happens as your leaving that would cause a lawsuit.
