Why isn’t there a way to fly in an airplane without getting off your wheelchair?
I know that many more people would fly anywhere if they could stay in their own wheelchairs. The airplane is big enough to have a seat that can be removed or folded underneath so a passenger in a wheelchair would ride comfortable.
If you did not have to land, take off, experience turbulance, or have a slight chance of a crash or other event where passengers had to evacuate quickly, then sure, they could have a spot for a wheelchair.
But the fact is a wheelchair would tumble to the rear of the plane during takeoff, smash to the front when breaks are applied during landing, and who know’s what else could happen even on a normal flight. It’s just not safe.
