Would this adapter work for my laptop?
I have a Gateway laptop. On the back it says:
Model No.: W3501
Input: 19v = 3.42A
And I’m looking at a adapter that is a universal mode-switching power supply, with an adjustable output DC voltage of 15V-20V/4.5A max 22-24V /4A max.
I don’t know much about this. Please help me out.
Please please please please please, do NOT get an Universal charger! They almost never work and every time I hear someone talk about it, its nothing but bad news. I used one myself and it wasn’t good. You should stay away from these things.
The idea of making a charger universal to all is like making an universal tire for all cars. This is just impossible, especially with chargers. You need to get the specific charger for your laptop or it won’t work or it may damage it by frying the motherboard.
I would highly suggest you get the specific charger rather than universal chargers.
You can look online on sites like ebay or amazon. I would personally suggest you visit Topmic instead. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life.
This is a great way to save money in the long run and a good investment as well.
You should be able to find them online through google search.
Best of luck.
