Does anyone do charity work for cancer/disabled people?
My dad is fighting cancer and it has just progressed to the next level. He’s had limited mobility in his arm for months now but I had to get him a wheelchair recently because the pain in his hip is too much to walk on it. The problem is his downstairs bathroom. They can not get the wheelchair in there. Even if they could, they could not get him into the tub to take a shower. If they put a bath seat inside the tub, the tub walls are too high to lift his legs over, it’s too painful. They just recently went through bankruptcy and they do not have the finances to do this remodel, nor do I. Is there something you could do? Medicare in NY does not assist with this and neither does the American Cancer Society. I understand funds go primarily for research but that doesn’t help the people that are suffering with this disease. He is not ready to go into an assisted living facility. Is there anyone who can help fix his bathroom to accomodate is immobility?
