Pneumatic Cylinders?
I am doing a school project an am looking for a pneumatic cylinder. What is the difference between rodless and not rodless cylinders? For my application, I need the piston like thing. Basically, what I am trying to do is use it to lift things, max of around 20 lbs. with a shaft size of 1.5′. Do any of you have any suggestions on where I can find them for the cheapest possible price?
Rodless are magnetically coupled to the load and have equal force in both directions. Cylinders with rods have less force in one direction becasue the amount of area exposed to the pressure is reduced by the cross-sectional area of the rod.
Rodless also are cleaner since they can be fully sealed
