I need help converting electricity.?
Alright im chillin in turkey in europe and as some people know they use a different type of outlet

So my laptop charger is american and i bought this converter

Its supposed to make american plugs work with european outlets but when i use it it makes my laptop charger box extremely hot.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5921

Also this laptop is brand new so im not sure if its supposed to get that hot and all.
So ya am i using the right converter or what?
Check if there’s a switch anywhere on your converter or transformer for the laptop that says 110/220 ad if so set it to work with 220 volts. Your American gear is made to only work with 110 volts while we have 220 – 240 volts in the outlet here in Europe.
There are probably converters that will fix your problem in the shops in Turkey, it can harm your computer to use twice the amount of voltage if it’s not made to handle it.
