Toshiba laptop turns on for two seconds and then dies?! Help!?
Firstly can I just say that I am NOT good at computers. I know big button turns on and mouse moves okay? So here is my problem:
I put in the charger and it takes a second for the lights to come on at the front of it (to tell me that it’s charging) then I turn it on and depending on how long it’s been charging it can stay on for between 2 and 7 seconds. I really need this to be fixed because I have some GCSE coursework that needs to be done pronto! Is there any simple ways to get this fixed (like taking the battery out and banging it or something) because I don’t really have the time or the money to get this piece of rubbish fixed by a proffesional. Thanks so much if you can help me!!
I suspect that the battery has gone dead but is still trying to suck up the juice coming from the charger and the charger doesn’t have enough capacity to supply power to the battery and the laptop when it is on. I suggest that you take out the battery, plug in the charger and turn on the computer. If the computer doesn’t turn off like what you described then there you’ve found the culprit. Time to buy a new battery.
By the way, I’m assuming that you are using the right charger that is capable of charging the battery and supplying power to the laptop simultaneously. Otherwise, you might have an under-powered charger.
