Dodge Caravan Changing Engine / Tranny?
Hello, My folks have a 1999 dodge grand caravan 3.0L . well the rear end went in the transmission and a pin wore a hole in the tranny casing. I bought a 1999 grand caravan 3.3L with good engine and transmission. Can I put this in my van as a whole unit? If so are there any modifications that would have to be done, going from 3L to 3.3L? Thanks for any help/suggestions i really want to help them with there problem.
I cant drive the new one i baught because it suffered body damage when it struck a moose and it came though the roof of the van
but ive had the parts hooked up to a scaner and they all still work perfectly, and sence there not in a rush it gives me somthing to work on in my spare time.
You should be able to convert it to the 3.3L setup, use the entire engine bay harness as well as the PCM and TCM, the entire thing should be able to swap into the place of the old powertrain, Its a big job but if you take your time and work carefully, it will save you a lot of $$
